ArmInfo. Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of the Republic of Armenia Eduard Hakobyan received a delegation led by the head of the Armenian mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Iva Petrova.
As reported by the SRC, Eduard Hakobyan, welcoming the IMF representatives, emphasized the importance of the SRC's long-term cooperation with the IMF, noting the key role of the IMF in the process of implementing tax and customs reforms in the Republic of Armenia.
The SRC Chairman presented the reforms recorded in a number of key areas of tax administration. In particular, new artificial intelligence tools have been introduced, the traceability system has been improved, a tax discipline program has been launched, and the systems of thematic inspections and obtaining banking information have been improved.
During the meeting, the tax revenue figures for 2024 and the revenue forecast for 2025, priorities and reforms of tax administration, as well as the process of introducing universal income declaration in Armenia, the consequences of assessing tax gaps and the progress of customs reforms were discussed. The importance of ensuring access of tax authorities to banking information of individuals and legal entities in terms of monitoring the accuracy of information obtained through the declaration system was also emphasized.
The head of the IMF mission in Armenia, Iva Petrova, emphasized the effectiveness of the reforms implemented by the State Revenue Committee and noted the resulting modernization of tax administration, as well as the improvement of tax discipline.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue bilateral cooperation.
