Two Alabamians will soon go head to head on the green as they compete to win an iconic green Masters jacket.
Nick Dunlap (Huntsville) from Tuscaloosa and Josef "Sepp" Straka from Vestavia Hills will both compete in The Masters Tournament, which begins Thursday at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
Dunlap, a former student at the University of Alabama, has yet to graduate after turning professional in January 2024. This decision followed his victory at "The American Express," a PGA Tour event that marked him as the first amateur to win a tour event since 1991.

Alabama's second professional golfer in the tournament, Straka, was born in Vienna, Austria, before moving to the United States. He grew up in Valdosta, Georgia, and attended the University of Georgia.
Turning pro in 2016 and earning his PGA Tour card three years later in 2019, Straka made history by becoming the first Austrian golfer to win at a tour competition.
The Masters Tournament will kick off bright and early Thursday morning.
