Forex: NRB reports slight uncrease in US dollar

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has released the foreign exchange rates for today (Thursday), showing an increase in most major currencies, including the US dollar, euro, pound sterling, Australian dollar, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar.

After remaining stable for four consecutive days, the US dollar has seen a slight rise, with its buying rate now at NPR 136.50 and the selling rate at NPR 137.10, compared to NPR 136.46 and NPR 137.06 yesterday.

The highest exchange rate ever recorded for the US dollar in Nepal was on Magh 25, when it reached NPR 139.83 for buying and NPR 140.43 for selling.

The euro has also strengthened, with its buying rate increasing to NPR 147.41 and the selling rate to NPR 148.06, up from NPR 147.21 and NPR 147.75 the previous day.

Likewise, the pound sterling has risen to NPR 176.66 for buying and NPR 177.43 for selling, compared to yesterday’s NPR 176.10 and NPR 176.88.

The Australian dollar has followed suit, climbing to NPR 86.08 for buying and NPR 86.46 for selling, from NPR 85.34 and NPR 85.61.

Additionally, the Kuwaiti dinar has edged up to NPR 442.69 for buying and NPR 444.64 for selling, while the Bahraini dinar now stands at NPR 362.09 and NPR 363.68, slightly higher than yesterday.
