Welcome to the North Shore
The North Shore of Milwaukee offers charm, culture and entertainment across its seven communities: Glendale, Brown Deer, River Hills, Bayside, Fox Point, Whitefish Bay and Shorewood. There’s so much to do and see in this region that we were inspired to create this guide to help you navigate the many shops, restaurants, parks and more.

Each of the communities has its own unique flavor and attractions. Shorewood is the densest of the seven, with a walkable, more urban setting. The lakeshore is one of the most scenic in the state, notably at family-friendly Atwater Park. A stroll through its downtown will take you past some of the metro area’s coolest restaurants, shops and more.
Neighboring Whitefish Bay is a vibrant shopping destination. Silver Spring Drive, its central stretch, is home to dozens of boutique shops, art galleries and cultural events.
Farther north, Fox Point offers miles of scenic lakefront, including the 49-acre Doctors Park, situated along a bluff. To the west, Brown Deer boasts one of Wisconsin’s top public golf courses, Brown Deer Golf Course.
Bayside is well known for the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, a beautiful natural escape with 6 miles of trails that wind through 185 acres of prairies, forests, ravines and shoreline. Head west to River Hills to find plentiful green spaces and public parks, as well as one of the most striking arts destinations in Wisconsin, Lynden Sculpture Garden, a 40-acre park that is home to more than 50 pieces of monumental abstract art.
Glendale, just north of Milwaukee, is known as the “Root Beer Capital of the Universe,” owing to Sprecher Brewing’s long history in the city. The company hosts tours, as well as an annual Root Beer Bash every August. And Glendale is home to Bayshore, a shopping center with over 70 stores, restaurants and entertainment options.

This worship community hosts events and celebrations throughout April. Holy Week events begin on the 17th with a Maundy Thursday agape meal and service at 6 p.m. Good Friday service will be held at 3 p.m. on the 18th. Easter services, at 8 and 10 a.m. on the 20th, are followed by a family-friendly Easter egg hunt. The church is also hosting the Arcadia Trio for a concert on the 28th.
