As the ballpark readies for its 25th anniversary season, Comerica Park has been chosen as one of the Best Baseball Stadiums in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards.
The $300 million stadium that broke ground in October 1997 and is home to the Detroit Tigers. It features a carousel, Ferris wheel and mammoth water feature in center field.
Restaurants in Comerica include the "Brushfire Grill" barbecue area behind third base, the Big Cat Court food area behind first base and a range of snacks, sandwiches and frozen treats.
In 2023, the team unveiled a new outfield wall to elevate the "player and fan experience" by moving in and lowering the center-field fence. In 2024, it added a new 15,688-square-foot video board, one of the largest in the MLB.
"The Detroit Tigers started the new millennium with a new baseball stadium, which offers convenient access to public transit and is surrounded by great food and a bevy of entertainment," USA TODAY said. "Since moving to the new stadium, the Tigers have won multiple American League pennants. In addition to checking out a game, you should also join a stadium tour that will take you into areas you would never get to see during an event."

When do the Tigers open the season?
The team plays its first game of the season Thursday, March 27, on the road against the Dodgers in Los Angeles. The Tigers open their home season April 4 against the White Sox in 1:10 p.m. game.
