Punjab National Bank Appoints Shri D Surendran as Executive Director
Shri D Surendran holds a postgraduate degree in Agriculture from Annamalai University and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has appointed Shri D Surendran as the Executive Director of the bank. Previously serving as the Chief General Manager at Canara Bank, he has taken charge of his new role effective from March 24, 2025. His tenure will continue until May 31, 2027, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.

The bank has clarified that there is no interrelation between Shri D Surendran and the other directors of the bank. Additionally, he is not debarred from holding the position of director by any SEBI order or any other regulatory authority.
Shri D Surendran holds a postgraduate degree in Agriculture from Annamalai University and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. He has also completed the Leadership Development Programme for Senior Executives conducted by the Banks Board Bureau at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bengaluru.

He began his career at Canara Bank in 1990 as an Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO) and has served in various capacities over the past 34 years across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, New Delhi, and Andhra Pradesh. He has led Very Large and Exceptionally Large Branches, worked as a General Manager in Karnataka Gramin Bank, and headed the Canara Bank Circle Office in Madurai.
As the Chief General Manager, he was responsible for overseeing the Human Resources Wing at the Head Office. His extensive experience includes Branch Banking, Priority Credit, MSME, Retail Credit, Recovery, and Human Resources. During his tenure, he played a key role in implementing Project Aarohan-HR Transformation.
Furthermore, Shri Surendran was also nominated to the Board of Canara HSBC Life Insurance Company Ltd. His vast experience and leadership are expected to bring significant value to Punjab National Bank in its future growth and strategic initiatives.
