The newly elected Board of Directors of Cosmos Bank led by Adv. Pralhad Kokare, paid a courtesy visit to Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Wednesday.
From Cosmos Bank, Vice-Chairman Yashwant Kasar, Milind Kale, Sachin Apte, and Apekshita Thipsay were present, along with NUCFDC Chairman Jyotindra Mehta, Satish Marathe, Uday Joshi, Sanjay Pachpor and others. Union Minister of State for Cooperation Muralidhar Mohol was also in attendance.
During the meeting, the Cosmos Bank delegation informed the minister about the bank’s additional contribution of Rs 12 crore towards the share capital of the National Urban Co-operative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC), an umbrella organization for urban cooperative banks. This follows the bank’s earlier contribution of Rs 3 crore to NUCFDC.
Speaking to Indian Cooperative, delegation member Milind Kale said, “It was just a courtesy visit to extend greetings to the Union Cooperation Minister from the newly elected Board of Cosmos Bank.”
He further added, “We have already contributed Rs 3 crore, and we are now committing an additional Rs 12 crore towards the Umbrella Organization. This move aims to strengthen financial support mechanisms for cooperative banks across the country.”
The leadership of Cosmos Bank expressed gratitude for the minister’s support and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the cooperative banking sector in India.
