
The Netherlands-headquartered Raben Group NV, a logistics services provider, has extended its network to Germany and is building a new logistics centre in the Steinbach district of Baden-Baden. The facility will cover an area of 30,534sqm and will begin operations in May 2025.
The new centre will feature 5,500sqm of storage space and 51 loading docks. A photovoltaic system will be installed on the roof, along with electric charging stations for trucks as well as designated parking spaces and social rooms for external truck drivers.
The group also announced a strategic partnership with Sika Automotive, a subsidiary of Swiss multinational Sika AG, in Hamburg. Sika is a producer of speciality chemicals and a manufacturer of systems and products for bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing, and protecting in the automotive and construction sectors.
Johannes Gehrdau, head of supply chain Europe global business at Sika Automotive, said the strategic partnership “combines the technological expertise of Sika Automotive with the logistical efficiency of a long-standing partner. Together, we are strengthening the performance of our supply chain and contributing to a more sustainable future. In doing so, we are also making an important contribution to the transformation of the industry towards net-zero emissions.”
The Sika Automotive plant in Hamburg hosts over 10,000 transportation events annually, helping them supply over 700 locations in around 50 countries. It is the company’s European hub for the distribution of speciality chemicals.
Raben Group is a Dutch logistics service provider offering TFL services including contract logistics, road networks (domestic, international, oriental), fresh logistics, FTL and intermodal transport, marine and air freight.
The company operates 160 branches across 15 European countries, including Bulgaria, Germany, Estonia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Hungary. It manages approximately 1.8mn sqm of warehouse capacity.
