Alabama transfer Jahleel Billingsley commits to Longhorns

Billingsley caught six touchdowns in his three seasons at Alabama.

Texas secured a commitment from Alabama junior tight end Jahleel Billingsley on Sunday, adding a much-needed veteran presence to a position group lacking depth.

Billingsley entered the NCAA transfer portal on Tuesday, just a day after the Crimson Tide fell in the College Football Playoff title game. The Chicago native racked up 559 yards and six touchdowns, playing in 20 games during his three years in Tuscaloosa.

Texas lost its two primary tight ends recently, with senior Cade Brewer graduating and junior Jared Wiley having entered the transfer portal in mid-December. Billingsley will join Gunnar Helm, Juan Davis and Jatavion Sanders in Texas’ tight end room.
