Romania - Factors to watch on March 8

BUCHAREST, March 8 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press reports and events to watch which may affect Romanian financial markets on Thursday.

DEBT TENDER

Romanian debt managers tender 400 million lei ($106.52 million) worth of Oct. 2021 treasury bonds.

Q4 GDP

Romania's economy expanded 6.9 percent on the year in the fourth quarter, the National Statistics Board said on Wednesday confirming a flash estimate, while domestic consumption rose 9.3 percent.

CEE MARKETS

The zloty plunged against the euro and its Central European peer, the forint, as the governor of Poland's central bank said its first interest rate increase might come a year later than he earlier expected.

CURRENCIES

Central Europe's main currencies are expected to strengthen in the next 12 months on the back of healthy economic growth and expectations for monetary tightening, a Reuters poll of analysts showed in Wednesday.
