Banker Pam Zamani closes 50-year career

Santa Cruz County Bank will host a retirement party for Pam Zamani from 2-6 p.m. Thursday at 595 Auto Center Drive. There will be food and refreshments.

Zamani has been in banking for nearly 50 years, at Santa Cruz County Bank, Coast Commercial Bank and Bank of America, working mostly in lending.

“She was one of the first individuals to say ‘yes’ to help start Santa Cruz County Bank back in 2004,” said co-worker Mary Anne Carson, noting many of her customers followed her. “She will be dearly missed by her fellow employees and customers.”

Zamani managed and grew Santa Cruz County Bank’s Watsonville office when it opened in 2005.

She served on the board of the Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Santa Cruz County, Pajaro Valley Community Health Trust and the Red Cross. A member of the loan committee at California Coastal Rural Development Corp., she taught banking and finance classes at Cabrillo College.

For 13 consecutive years, she organized bank volunteers for the Santa Cruz County Fair junior livestock auction.
