The first European customer of Russian Gazprombank's subsidiary Kriogaz that has started supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) for bunkering vessels in Europe is the Estonian gas company Eesti Gaas, which uses it to bunker Tallink's new LNG-powered fast ferry Megastar, the news portal of the Russian television channel RBC reports cites LETA/BNS.

Kriogaz CEO Richard Rudnitsky told journalists in Tallinn that the company plans to start selling Russian LNG in Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland as well and has negotiations underway in Latvia and Lithuania, RBC said.

Kriogaz buys natural gas from Gazprom and sells it to Estonia through its Pskov-based LNG plant which at present produces 23,000 tons of LNG per year.

Eesti Gaas said on Friday it had ordered from Germany eight modern semitrailers to transport LNG from Pskov to Estonia. The vehicles are equipped with powerful cryogenic pumps and they are constantly running between Pskov and Tallinn, four in each direction.
