Aiming to assist Emirati graduates in identifying right job opportunities and facilitating their recruitment, training and career growth, the 18th National Career Exhibition will be held at Expo Centre Sharjah from February 10 to 12.
A new logo of the event that is held under the patronage of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, was also unveiled at a Press conference held at Expo Centre Sharjah recently.
It was addressed by Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, chief executive officer of Expo Centre Sharjah, and Jamal Al Jassmi, General Manager of the Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies, or EIBFS, co-organiser of the exhibition.
The Press conference was also addressed by Tareq bin Khadem, chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources at the Sharjah Government; Aishah Dhanhani, group head of HR business partnership at National Bank of Abu Dhabi; Hassan Al Balghouni, head of the public relation and social responsibility division at Sharjah Islamic Bank; and Shorouk Al Reda, head the of human resource department at Commercial Bank of Dubai.
"The new logo for the National Career Exhibition signifies the renewed focus on Emiratisation, and further supports government policies and initiatives that are aimed at fostering a conducive environment for Emiratis to pursue a meaningful career in both public and private sector establishments," said Al Midfa.
Al Jassmi highlighted the role played by the EIBFS in boosting Emiratisation levels in financial institutions in the country. "We have been working relentlessly to better-equip banking and financial services professionals with industry-specific knowledge and advanced financial skills. Our recently-announced 2016 training programmes are aimed at upgrading the knowledge and skills of professionals, as well as creating a pool of UAE nationals capable of pursuing careers in the industry."
The show will feature ministries and government organisations, local and federal government bodies, all leading banks operating in the country, insurance firms, money exchanges, free zones, financial consultants and recruitment companies, offering nationals a wide variety of job opportunities in various verticals, positions and industries.
National graduates, whether high school graduates or holders of bachelor's or master's degrees, can also take advantage of training programmes offered by various establishments that ensure that Emiratis are provided with educational support and hands-on job training that will help them grow within the organisation.
"Displaying its commitment to Emiratisation and the National Career Show, the UAE Armed Forces will continue to be the platinum sponsor of the exhibition, and, given that a variety of job openings at all its wings like Army, Air Force, Air Defence, Navy and Presidential Guard will be available, it will have one of the biggest stalls at the event," said Al Midfa.
